Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources works to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife resources and provide opportunities for hunting, fishing, trapping, boating, and other wildlife-related activities. The Department works actively to create and enhance young forest habitat that benefits the state’s populations of ruffed grouse, American woodcock, bobwhite quail, elk, white-tailed deer, breeding and migratory birds, and many other species. A new Ruffed Grouse and Young Forest Strategic Plan will focus resources and leverage partnerships to advance habitat improvements in eastern Kentucky’s grouse range.
